You Turned Their Sadness into Joy!
Dear friend,
One year ago, in the midst of heavy Russian bombardments on the city of Nikopol, Ukraine, little Alexander began attending Pastor Roman’s children’s ministry. What stood out immediately about Alex was his sadness. He never smiled. Not even at the sight of cotton candy, which is a luxury in Ukraine!
Alex is not the only child battling feelings of doom. Most of the children under Pastor Roman’s care struggle with various symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) due to months of shelling that has been hammering the city day and night.
Thanks to your generous help, we were able to send 90 boys and girls to a camp where they played freely outdoors in the fresh air, slept soundly and ate good, wholesome food.
Most importantly, they were far away from the noise of bombs falling.
Pastor Roman writes:
“We cannot thank you enough that the children were kept safe far away from Nikopol during a period of intense bombings that were hitting our city. Even though the camp was near Kyiv, the children did not hear any explosions throughout their stay.
When they returned home, their parents thanked us. Not only for the much needed rest, but mainly they thanked us for the incredible improvement of their child’s condition.
Taisiya and Valeria’s nervous tics have been reduced to a minimum. The boy’s are no longer suffering from bedwetting.
Thankfully, Alexander is unrecognizable. He returned from the camp a different kid. He now smiles and is filled with a sense of inner peace.”
Every child deserves to live in a safe environment. Every child deserves to grow up healthy and happy.
Your love-in-action helped heal many of these precious children, like Alex!
New children continue to come to Pastor Roman’s church. Many of them are living in dire poverty and seek food. Your continued support helps us feed these children through Pastor Roman’s daily lunch program.
Thank you for loving these children – the innocent victims of war!
I pray that you will continue to join me in supporting this very vital, life-supporting work.
Together in His Ministry,
