EVACUATION OF KIDS IN NIKOPOL UPDATE

Pastor Roman and his wife Inna in Nikopol, Ukraine

Pastor Roman and his wife Inna have been caring for children and families in Nikopol since the war began. Hundreds of hungry children are fed through the church free lunch program. For most, it is the only food the children eat.

With Russian troops now stationed 7 kilometres away on the other side of the Dnepro River, Nikopol came under severe attack. Shelling, missiles and bomb blasts hit the city daily. Children were forced to hunker down in basements and couldn’t come for food. They went days without being fed. One of their little boys was so hungry he was seen eating cat food left out

The hunger, the emotional and psychological effect on the children left Pastor Roman and Inna crying out for help.

“We cry out: Please, help us with something to get our church of youth to a safe place for a while! The children have to be taken away from the place of shelling.

We reached out to you and you generously responded to their cry!

Your financial support enabled groups of children (40 at a time) to be evacuated from Nikopol to a safe place of refuge from the daily sounds of bomb blasts so they could play fun games outside, rest and sleep in quiet. The children were so excited for this opportunity you gave them and wanted to thank you.
